Getting up close and personal with one of the Western United States' most magnificent waterfalls without the need for a long arduous trek is part of what makes Yosemite National Park so popular.

Hiking to Lower Yosemite Falls on a one mile loop trail takes you on a very pleasant and winding journey through forest, spotting the occasional deer before opening up to reveal the 320ft wall of cascading water crashing onto the rocks. The route is very easy, with virtually no inclined sections. The Eastern portion of this trail is also wheelchair accessible outside of winter conditions.

The bridge over the creek provides great vantage points and photo opportunities, and those with more energy to burn might choose to skip off the trail and scramble over the many boulders towards the very bottom of the falls.

The waterfall is so massive it's difficult to get it all in frame!
